About GIL Renovation Services
Building in Northeast Florida since 2017 — and structured so that the person you call is never the person standing on a job site.
Building in Northeast Florida since 2017
GIL Renovation Services is a licensed building contractor working across Jacksonville and Duval, Clay, St. Johns, and Nassau counties. We have been building here since 2017, and we complete 30 to 40 residential and commercial projects a year — additions, new homes, accessory dwelling units, and whole-home renovations, alongside kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, painting, and decks.
That volume is deliberate. It is enough work to keep a full schedule of substantial projects moving, and few enough projects that nobody becomes a file number. We are based in Orange Park, FL, which puts most of Northeast Florida inside a comfortable drive and means a site visit does not have to be an all-day event.
Both sides of the business matter to us — homeowners adding the room they should have had from the start, and commercial clients who need a build-out finished on a date they can plan around. What we do not do is roofing or handyman work. Saying so plainly is cheaper for everyone than taking a job we are not the right company for.

“You’re not just buying a remodel, you’re buying an experience”
That is how Cesar Perdomo describes what GIL sells, and it is not a slogan bolted on afterwards — it is the reason the company is organised the way it is. A renovation is months of strangers in your house, decisions you have never had to make before, and a large amount of your money already spent. The finished room is only half of what you are paying for. The other half is how the months in between felt.
The two things he will tell you we are unusually stubborn about are attention to detail and communication with homeowners. Detail is the part you notice years later — the tile that still lines up, the trim that still sits flat, the addition where nobody can find the seam. Communication is the part you notice on day nine, when you want to know what happens next and somebody tells you.
Neither of those is a promise that costs nothing to make. Both are visible in the reviews homeowners leave us, and both are things you should ask any contractor to demonstrate before you sign.
How GIL is built
One of us runs the job sites. The other runs the relationship.
Our business partner runs the job sites, which frees Cesar Perdomo to manage customers and nothing else. That single division of labour is the most important thing on this page, and it is the reason homeowners who have been burned before stay with us.
At almost every contracting company you will call, one person does both jobs. He quotes the work, he sells the work, and then he goes and runs the work — which means that from the day your project starts, the person you need is on a ladder, under a house, or standing on somebody else’s site with his phone in the truck. Nobody planned to go quiet on you. The structure guaranteed it.
Here, managing you is the job. You are not competing with a job site for Cesar’s attention, because he is not on one. When you call mid-project to ask what is happening on Thursday, somebody who actually knows the answer picks up.

No run-arounds
You get a straight answer about scope, schedule, and cost, including when the answer is one you would rather not hear. We would rather lose the job at the consultation than lose your trust in week six.
No no-shows
If we say we are coming, we come. The single most common complaint homeowners have about contractors is the day nobody turned up and nobody called, and it is the easiest one in this industry to simply not do.

GIL Renovation Services holds Florida licence CBC1269967 as a Certified Building Contractor, active through August 2028. That is a state-certified licence class, which is what allows us to take on structural work — foundations, framing, second storeys, and full new construction — rather than sub-letting the structural half of a project to somebody else and hoping it lands right.
We carry $1,000,000 in general liability coverage with a $2,000,000 aggregate. We are licensed and insured, and you are welcome — in fact encouraged — to verify the licence yourself on the Florida DBPR website before you sign anything. Do the same with every contractor you are considering; it takes two minutes and it is the cheapest due diligence available to you.
GIL pulls and handles all permits for your project. That is part of what you are hiring a licensed contractor to do, and it is included rather than billed as an extra or handed back to you. Our licensed plumbing and electrical subcontractors pull their own trade permits under our master permit, so you never contact the building department or schedule an inspection yourself.
Every project carries a one-year workmanship warranty covering the entire job, not just selected trades. If something we built is not right within that year, we come back and correct it.
Honest about fit
What we are built for
Substantial projects: home additions, new construction, ADUs, and whole-home renovations, plus the kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, painting, and decks that go with them. Work that needs a permit, a schedule, and a licensed contractor standing behind it.
Our licence class and our subcontractor bench are set up for exactly that, which is why an addition and a full renovation are the two things we build most.
What we will point you elsewhere for
We do not offer roofing or handyman services. Small repairs matter and they deserve someone who is genuinely set up for them — a company that can be at your house tomorrow morning for an hour’s work, which is not how our schedule is built.
If your project is not a fit, we will say so at the consultation rather than take it on and do it half as well as somebody who specialises in it.
Licensing, warranty, and payment questions
The three things homeowners check before they hire anybody — answered plainly, so you can compare us against whoever else you are talking to.
Yes. GIL Renovation Services holds Florida licence CBC1269967 as a State-Certified Building Contractor, active through August 2028, and carries $1,000,000 in general liability coverage with a $2,000,000 aggregate. You are welcome to verify the licence yourself on the Florida DBPR website before you sign anything. We recommend doing exactly that with any contractor you are considering.
Yes — every project carries a one-year workmanship warranty covering the entire job, not just selected trades. If something we built is not right within that year, we come back and correct it. Manufacturer warranties on materials and fixtures run separately and are usually longer; we hand over that documentation at completion.
A 50% deposit is due when you accept the proposal and schedule the project, with the remaining 50% due on completion. There are no progress-payment surprises in between and no charge for the estimate or the consultation. Financing is also available through Houzz if you would rather spread the cost.
