A bathroom remodel with the numbers stated up front

A small bathroom of roughly 7x5 typically takes about seven days including permitting and runs $10,000 to $14,000 with materials included. A master bathroom typically takes two to three weeks and runs $17,000 to $35,000, again with materials included. Those are the real figures we work from, published here rather than held back until you are sitting at your kitchen table.

Most contractors will not put a number on a website at all, which leaves homeowners researching a project they cannot budget for. We would rather you knew roughly where a bathroom lands before you ever call — if the range does not work for you, neither of us has lost an afternoon finding that out.

We remodel bathrooms across Jacksonville and Duval, Clay, St. Johns, and Nassau counties, under Florida licence CBC1269967 as a Certified Building Contractor.

A range is not a quote — and we will not pretend otherwise

The figures above are what bathrooms like yours typically cost. They are not a quote, because nobody can price a bathroom they have not stood in. Two rooms with identical dimensions can sit at opposite ends of the same range depending on whether the plumbing moves and what you choose at the tile counter.

So the range is where the conversation starts, not where it ends. We come out, measure, and go through the scope with you, and within 48 hours you have a comprehensive written proposal with the real number and everything it covers. The consultation and the proposal are free, and there is no obligation attached to either.

What a bathroom typically costs and how long it typically takes

Small bathroom — about 7 days

$10,000 – $14,000, materials included

A guest or hall bathroom of roughly 7x5. About seven days from start to finish, and that figure already includes permitting rather than adding it on afterwards.

A week is short enough that a household with a second bathroom barely feels it. If this is your only bathroom, say so at the consultation and we will plan the sequence around it.

Master bathroom — 2 to 3 weeks

$17,000 – $35,000, materials included

A primary suite bathroom: larger footprint, more tile, usually a bigger shower, and more often than not a layout change that moves plumbing.

The spread between the two ends of that range is mostly scope and selections — how much moves, and what you choose. Your written proposal tells you exactly where your bathroom lands and why.

Waterproofing is what decides whether a bathroom lasts

Everything a homeowner judges a bathroom by is the last ten percent of the work. The part that determines whether it is still sound in fifteen years is hidden behind the tile, and it is the first thing a cheap bid quietly removes.

Tile and grout are not waterproof. Water moves through grout, which means the waterproofing assembly underneath is the only thing standing between your shower and your framing. Done properly it is unremarkable and invisible. Done badly it is also invisible — for about two years, until the floor goes soft and the repair costs more than the original remodel did.

We detail the membrane, the corners, the curb, and the seams on every bathroom we build, because those transitions are precisely where shortcuts get taken. You will never see that work, and it is a large part of what you are actually paying for.

How a bathroom remodel runs

Seven stages, with permitting and material delivery handled by us. The only things asked of you are the consultation, the selections, and the final walkthrough.

  1. 1

    On-site consultation and measurements

We come out, measure the room, and go through what you want changed — including whether any fixtures are moving, which is the decision that most affects both cost and schedule.

  2. 2

    Written proposal within 48 hours

Full scope and price in writing within two days of the consultation. The range on this page becomes an actual number for your actual bathroom, with the scope itemised so nothing is left to interpretation.

  3. 3

    Selections at Floor & Decor

You work with an in-store designer on tile, colours, vanity, and fixtures. Selections go on a form under our account, and we purchase, collect, and deliver everything to site.

  4. 4

    Permitting

We pull the permit and handle the paperwork. Our licensed plumbing subcontractor pulls their trade permit under our master permit, and our electrical subcontractor does the same where the scope calls for it.

  5. 5

    Demolition and rough-in

The old bathroom comes out and the plumbing and electrical are run to the new layout, then inspected before anything is closed up.

  6. 6

    Waterproofing, tile, and finishes

Waterproofing goes in before a single tile does. Then tile, the vanity, fixtures, lighting, glass, and paint — in the order that keeps each trade off the finished work of the last one.

  7. 7

    Final inspection and walkthrough

County final inspection, then a walkthrough with you before we call it done. Your one-year workmanship warranty starts at completion.

Bathroom remodeling questions

The five questions everyone asks before hiring, plus the ones specific to bathrooms.

It depends on the size and scope of the work, so we price every project individually after seeing it in person. As a concrete reference point, a small bathroom of roughly 7x5 typically runs $10,000 to $14,000, and a master bathroom typically runs $17,000 to $35,000, with materials included in both. Your written proposal arrives within 48 hours of the on-site consultation and lays out the full scope and price, so you are never comparing guesses. Estimates and consultations are free.
